The air in Elder Elara’s sanctuary was thick with the scent of dried herbs and ancient dust. Sunlight, filtered through stained-glass windows depicting scenes of a forgotten, vibrant Dragonland, painted shifting mosaics on the stone floor. Arthur sat cross-legged before Elara, his brow furrowed in concentration. He had spent weeks under her tutelage, his clumsy attempts at channeling the elemental forces of Dragonland slowly, painstakingly, transforming into something more controlled, more potent. Yet, the vastness of his task, the sheer power of Ignis and his kin, still loomed like an insurmountable mountain.

Elara, her eyes like ancient pools reflecting the wisdom of ages, gestured with a gnarled hand towards a faded tapestry hanging on the far wall. It depicted a great battle, not of dragons against humans, but of dragons against dragons, a celestial war that had reshaped the very skies of their world. “You seek a weakness, Arthur,” she murmured, her voice a soft rustle of leaves. “But weakness is often a shadow cast by immense strength. It is not always a flaw, but an aspect, a necessary balance.”

Arthur leaned forward, his gaze fixed on the tapestry. “But Ignis… his power seems absolute. The stories say he has never known defeat.”
