Elara breathed it in, a balm to her restless spirit. Silas, his weathered hands moving with a practiced gentleness among the leaves, pointed to a cluster of orchids, their petals the colour of bruised twilight. “Eleanor,” he began, his voice a low rumble that barely disturbed the stillness, “she wasn’t just a gardener, you see. She was a guardian.”
