With Leo's help, Elara manages to access the disco ball. Inside, nestled amongst the reflective shards, she finds the ghost's treasured, slightly-singed biscuit recipe.

The disco ball hung from the dusty rafters of the abandoned town hall like a forgotten, bedazzled planet. It was enormous, a behemoth of shattered mirrors and questionable electrical wiring that pulsed with a faint, residual glitter. Leo, bless his video-game-addled brain, had declared it "The Ultimate Loot Drop," a sentiment that, for once, I wholeheartedly agreed with. My insides felt like a shaken-up snow globe, a chaotic swirl of anticipation and the faint, lingering scent of stale biscuits.

"Okay, Elara," Leo whispered, his breath fogging the air in the cavernous, silent space. He clutched a flashlight like it was a plasma sword. "Operation: Sparkle Snatch is a go. You got the… you know… the *thingy*?"

I nodded, my stomach doing a little flip-flop. The "thingy" was a rather precarious contraption Leo had fashioned from a broom handle, a fishing net, and an unhealthy amount of duct tape. It was supposed to be our lasso of destiny, our tool for retrieving the spectral chef’s precious parchment. My own "thingy" was my brain, currently buzzing like a trapped fly. I could *feel* the ghost's frustration, a low hum beneath the excitement. He was so close, and yet… so very far. It was like feeling the twitch of a cat’s tail right before it pounced, but on a much larger, more spectral scale.
