Lysander turned, his eyes, usually pools of knowing calm, now held a flicker of something akin to distress. He ran a hand over the intricate weave of the tapestry, his fingers tracing the faded figures that depicted generations of women, each holding a strand of crimson. "Certainty, Elara, is a rare and precious commodity. The past is a tapestry woven with both light and darkness, and to understand its truth is to acknowledge both. I have… I have been cautious.
