The air in Elara’s room felt heavy, thick with the scent of the night bloom, a fragrance that was both intoxicating and unsettling. It clung to the curtains, to the worn pages of her favorite book, and most certainly, to her. Tonight, the decision felt less like a choice and more like an inevitability. The exhaustion that had become her constant companion had finally worn her down, each tick of the clock a tiny hammer against her frayed nerves. This time, there was no struggle, no desperate clinging to wakefulness. She simply… let go.
