Chapter 1
The Whispers of the Night Bloom
Elara traced the condensation rings left by her forgotten mug of chamomile tea on the worn oak of her bedside table. Outside, the world hummed with the quiet symphony of a town settling into slumber. Streetlights cast long, sleepy shadows across her room, painting familiar objects in hues of indigo and silver. But for Elara, sleep remained a distant, tantalizing mirage. Her eyelids felt like lead weights, yet her mind buzzed like a trapped bee, a frantic, relentless energy that refused to dim.
