Chapter 5
The Perilous Path to Plenty
Despite the doubts, Phillip grants Konz command of a new mission. Konz leads his team through treacherous terrain and internal strife, battling the elements and the Sergeant Major's sabotage.

Konz swallowed, the dryness in his throat a stark contrast to the image of the verdant valley that burned in his mind. “Sir, I know. I… I made a grave error. But this is different. I marked the stars, I charted the terrain. I saw it, Captain. A place where the earth yields its bounty without struggle. It could save us.” He dared to meet Phillip’s gaze, his own brimming with a desperate sincerity. “I believe it is the only way.”
