Chapter 6
A Journalist's Skepticism
Elias seeks help, finding Anya Sharma, a tenacious investigative journalist. Initially skeptical, Anya senses a larger conspiracy behind Elias's desperate claims.
The sterile hum of the public library was a stark contrast to the frantic thrumming in Elias Thorne’s chest. Her desk was a chaotic landscape of overflowing files, scattered notes, and a half-eaten sandwich that looked like it had lost a fight with a particularly aggressive pigeon.
“Mr. Thorne, is it?” Anya’s voice was a low, gravelly rumble, laced with an impatience that Elias recognized all too well. She didn’t stand, merely gestured to the single, rickety chair opposite her desk with a pen that looked suspiciously like a sharpened twig. “You’ve been very insistent. My inbox is usually reserved for whistleblowers with verifiable proof, not… well, whatever this is.”
