Elara enters the bustling human city. The sights and sounds overwhelm her, a stark contrast to her quiet life. She seeks a specific, rare alchemical ingredient.

The wrought-iron gates shrieked a protest as Elara pushed them open, a sound swallowed almost immediately by the thrumming cacophony of the city. It was a beast, this place, a sprawling, glittering organism that pulsed with a life she’d only observed from afar, through the dappled leaves of her sanctuary. Neon lights, garish and electric, bled into the twilight sky, painting the rain-slicked streets in hues of violent pink and acid green. It assaulted her senses, a thousand times more potent than the faintest whisper of decay in her grove. The air, thick with the exhaust of metal beasts and the cloying sweetness of unknown perfumes, felt alien against her skin.

She clutched the worn leather pouch at her side, its familiar weight a small comfort against the rising tide of disorientation. Inside, nestled amongst dried herbs and shimmering vials, was the fragment of a map, a cryptic symbol pointing
