The results were a predictable mix of New Age forums and conspiracy theory blogs. But buried deep within a digitized archive of a forgotten historical society, a single, grainy image caught his eye. It was a photograph of a silver locket, intricately engraved. The locket bore the same coiled serpent. The caption, sparse and academic, read: "Personal adornment, believed to be associated with the 'Vestibulum' society, early 18th century."
