The world, once familiar and comforting, had transformed into a terrifying, alien landscape. Brookhollow Park, a place Max had known his entire life, was now a colossal, untamed wilderness. Towering blades of grass, thick as ancient trees, scraped against a sky that seemed impossibly distant. Every fallen leaf was a massive, decaying continent, and the very air hummed with the unseen life of this miniature world. The SCA.B 2K gauntlet on Max’s arm, a stark white against his skin, glowed with an eerie internal light, projecting a holographic map of their immediate surroundings. It was a cruel mockery, this map of a place they were now too small to navigate with any hope of recognition.

“Okay, okay, don’t panic,” Max said, his voice a high-pitched squeak that barely carried over the rustling symphony of the park. He tried to project an air of confidence, but the tremor in his hands, clutching the gauntlet, betrayed him. His gaze darted around, searching for any familiar landmark, any sign of the path they’d taken from the lab. Nothing. Just an endless expanse of green.

Hoops, already vibrating with nervous energy, bounced on the balls of her feet. “Don’t panic? Max, we’re the size of gnats! I think a little bit of panic is perfectly acceptable. I’m practically vibrating out of my tiny, tiny shoes.” She gestured wildly with her hands, her bright pink sneakers looking absurdly large on her minuscule frame. “And this map? It shows… a lot of green. Really, really helpful.”
