First Steps in the Giant World
Emerging from the lab into the park, the familiar becomes monstrous. Blades of grass tower like trees, pebbles are boulders, and the scent of damp earth overwhelms them. Their journey begins.
The hum of the SCA.B 2K unit faded, replaced by a symphony of unfamiliar sounds. Max blinked, the sterile white of the lab dissolving into a dizzying expanse of emerald green. He felt a faint vibration beneath his feet, a soft yielding that was utterly alien. Beside him, Hoops let out a low whistle, her voice a mere whisper in the vastness. "Whoa. Just… whoa."
Willow, ever the steady presence, took a deep, shaky breath. "Is this… is this Brookhollow Park?" Her voice, usually so clear, was thin, reedy.
Pete, his small frame trembling slightly, edged closer to Willow, his eyes wide as saucers. "It looks… different."
