The air in Elder Maeve's dwelling was thick with the scent of dried herbs and something else, something that reminded Lily of thunderstorms and old books. It clung to the woven mats on the floor and the polished, dark wood of the furniture, a perfume of ages. Maeve, her face a map of gentle wrinkles, sat opposite Lily, her hands folded serenely in her lap. The Lumina, usually a shimmering presence beside Lily, had retreated to a shadowy corner, its multifaceted eyes watching, always watching.

"You see, Lily," Maeve began, her voice a low murmur that seemed to resonate with the very foundations of this strange land, "this place is not merely a drawing. It is a dream made manifest, a child of your purest imagination. When you dreamt it, you poured so much of yourself into it – the vibrant colours, the impossible trees, the very breath of the Lumina. And for a time, it was as you intended, a perfect echo of your heart's desire."

Lily nodded, tracing the intricate patterns on the table with a fingertip. It felt so real, so solid. The colours weren't flat like on paper; they pulsed with an inner light. The air tasted sweet.
