The Echoing Caves

The next challenge lies in the Echoing Caves, where their own fears manifest as illusions. Tom confronts his own timidity, learning to control his reactions and drawing strength from his companions.

The air grew thick and heavy as we approached the mouth of the Echoing Caves. It wasn't a darkness that simply swallowed light, but one that seemed to hum with a strange, expectant energy. Professor Hoot, his spectacles perched precariously on his beak, adjusted his satchel. "Ah, yes, the Echoing Caves," he murmured, his voice a dry rustle. "A place where the walls have ears, and more importantly, where the heart has a voice that can be amplified to a deafening roar."

Sparkle, perched on my shoulder, shivered, though not from cold. "It feels… wobbly," she whispered, her tiny wings fluttering nervously. "Like when I try to make too many butterflies at once."

Grumble, ever the stoic, let out a low rumble. "Wobbly is better than broken. Let's just get through this. The sooner we’re out, the sooner we can get back to… well, wherever we're going next." He didn't meet my eyes, and I knew he was thinking about the last time he'd faced something wobbly, something that had left him with a permanent shadow.
