Chapter 19
A New Pattern
Elara finishes a large, intricate tapestry that tells the complete story. The strange occurrences cease as the village acknowledges its history, finding a new sense of unity.
The final stitch was a tiny, almost invisible loop of deep indigo, pulled taut and secured with a whispered breath. Elara’s fingers, usually so nimble, trembled slightly as she tied it off. And the shadows… they’re gone, but I feel like I can still see them, just out of the corner of my eye.”
Elara understood. The unraveling had been terrifying, but the resolution, the mending of the threads, had left its own kind of ache. There was a need to solidify what had been learned, to weave the scattered pieces into a whole, a story that could be held and understood.
