Aris felt the weight of the world on his shoulders, a burden heavier than any satchel of research notes. He stood in the hushed clearing, the air thick with a nervous anticipation that mirrored his own. To his left, a delegation of humans, their faces etched with a mixture of apprehension and skepticism, shifted uncomfortably. To his right, a gathering of orcs, their stoic expressions a mask for their own deep-seated anxieties, watched with unblinking eyes. This was it. The moment of truth. The moment where years of prejudice and misunderstanding had to be unraveled, thread by painstaking thread.

He looked at Grak, his wise old mentor, who offered a subtle nod. Grak’s presence was a steady anchor, a silent testament to the possibility of peace. Aris then turned to Lyra, her young face alight with a brave curiosity that had always inspired him. She stood a little apart from the other orcs, a vibrant splash of green against their earthy tones, her gaze fixed on Aris with an unwavering trust.

"We stand at a precipice," Aris began, his voice resonating through the quiet clearing. He spoke in the common tongue, the language that, until recently, had been solely human. He saw the flicker of surprise in some of the orcs’ eyes, a subtle acknowledgment of his effort. "For too long, we have seen each other through a veil of fear and ignorance. We have heard only the echoes of what we believed to be true, not the voices that truly spoke."
