Chapter 14
Blackwood's Bluff
Silas Blackwood attempts to discredit Elias, spreading rumors and fabricating evidence. Elias must prove his findings are legitimate and not mere conspiracy theories.

It hummed beneath his skin, a nervous energy that made his fingers twitch. He’d been meticulously cross-referencing data, his monitor screens a kaleidoscope of charts and spreadsheets, trying to build a fortress of facts around his discovery. Elias leaned back, rubbing his tired eyes. He knew this was coming. The Oracle, in its cryptic way, had warned him about the “serpent’s tongue” and the “woven lies.” He’d thought it was just more metaphorical mumbo jumbo, but now, it felt chillingly literal. Blackwood wasn't just going to let Elias expose him. He was going to dismantle Elias’s credibility, brick by painstaking brick.
