…This was it. The crossroads. The place where the journal had promised answers, and perhaps, a way out. But as we stepped into the clearing, a low growl echoed from the shadows of the sentinel trees, a sound that was far more ancient, and far more dangerous, than any skitterling's chitter. My eyes, and Elara's, snapped towards the source of the sound. Something large, something powerful, was stirring, and it was watching us. The true test of the Labyrinthine Woods, it seemed, had only just begun.
