…He had fulfilled his contract. He had protected the innocent. And he had honored his father’s legacy. But he also knew that this was not the end. The knowledge of this energy source, the existence of such powerful, off-the-record technology, would attract others. His father had faced a threat, and now, so did he. With a final glance at the silent command center, the Warden turned and walked away, his ghost weave trench coat billowing behind him, a solitary figure disappearing into the dawn. The wraith suit within him hummed, a promise of further discoveries, of greater challenges, and of the ongoing duty to guard the innocent, to uphold honor, and to face the darkness, alone.
