The walls of doubt built by her loved ones had crumbled, leaving her exposed and vulnerable, facing an enemy that was no longer a figment of her imagination, but a tangible, terrifying presence. And in that moment, as the darkness pressed in, Sofie knew she had to fight. She had to find a way to understand this encroaching horror, or it would consume her entirely. The adventure, terrifying and unwanted, had truly begun.
