He finally turned to me, his eyes holding a mixture of resignation and something I dared to hope was a flicker of shared resolve. “We survive, Sarina. We find out what Elias meant. And then… we decide.” The decision loomed, a monstrous shadow in the encroaching darkness. To step into this new world, or to chase the phantom of a past that might not even exist anymore. Our fractured relationship, once the source of so much pain, now felt like the only anchor in this tempest of time.
