…I opened the locket. Inside, on one side, was a faded photograph of a younger, happier Seajay, her eyes bright and full of a joy I hadn’t seen. On the other side, etched with a delicate hand, were two initials: R.B. Rayan Blackheart. The threads were beginning to unravel, but the pattern they formed was more tangled and dangerous than I could have ever imagined. My love for Seajay had been a beautiful, fragile bloom, but it had been planted in poisoned soil. Now, I had to navigate the thorns, uncover the rot, and somehow, find a way to save myself, and perhaps, the woman who had broken my heart and my trust.
