He took her hand, and she leaned into him. “We made it,” she whispered. “We made it together.” The Veilwood rustled around them, silver and blue. Above, the sky was dark, but a single star burned bright—the same one, now a part of them. They turned and walked away from the pool, into the heart of the Veilwood. A new path opened before them, lined with soft light. They didn’t know where it led, but they didn’t need to. They had each other. And that was enough.
