Almost kind. “You have until the new moon,” the Veilwood said. “But the path is no longer closed. Walk south, toward the rising silver star. There you will find what you seek.” Elara looked at Kael. He nodded. Hand in hand, they started walking. Behind them, the door of light closed, melting into the trees. Ahead, the sky was beginning to darken, and the first star of evening flickered to life.
