…The night sky was a deep, inky black, studded with a million distant stars. They looked so peaceful, so unchanging. But tonight, for the first time, James saw them differently. He saw them not as distant points of light, but as markers. As celestial signposts, silently charting a course for a destiny he was only just beginning to glimpse. A destiny that felt both terrifying and, strangely, exhilarating. The unease was still there, but now, it was laced with a nascent spark of something else. Something akin to wonder. The universe, it seemed, was far larger, and far more mysterious, than he had ever imagined. And somehow, impossibly, he was a part of it.
