…Nana’s smile was wide and proud. “That’s wonderful, Tom. And Leo,” she said, turning to the younger boy, “would you like to play with Tom’s knight? Perhaps you could tell us a story about Sir Reginald and your brave teddy bear?” Leo nodded eagerly, and soon, the two boys were lost in a world of imaginary adventures, Sir Reginald and the teddy bear battling imaginary dragons on the living room rug. Lily, feeling much better, watched them, a happy hum starting in her own chest. Nana’s house was indeed a delightful domain, filled with good food, warm hugs, and the promise of new friendships. The weekend had only just begun, and already, it felt like the most wonderful place in the world.
