When the Hunt Begins

…“It’s here,” Mark breathed, his voice barely audible. “It’s right here.” The growl echoed again, closer this time, a chilling sound that seemed to promise violence. We scrambled to our feet, Robin clutching her locket, her eyes wide with a terror that mirrored my own. The path ahead of us was clear, but the woods on either side felt alive with unseen menace. We were no longer just lost; we were being hunted. The map had shown us the way out, but it had also shown us the danger. And now, the danger had found us. The hunt had truly begun.
