…He activated the comms unit. Static hissed, then coalesced into a wavering carrier signal. He took a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly as he began to speak. "This is Seth Adams, broadcasting from Mars. This is not an official transmission. This is a message to Earth. A message about the truth. The Martian Exodus was a lie…" As his words echoed into the void, a faint, almost inaudible hum began to emanate from the shuttle’s exterior. A distant, mechanical sigh. The sound of another vessel, approaching. Fast. Thorne’s contingency plans were already in motion. The shadow of the conspiracy had fallen, and the chase was on.
