…As the shuttle broke through the thin Martian atmosphere, he saw it. A sleek, black vessel, impossibly fast, emerging from the shadows of Deimos. It was Commander Thorne’s personal interceptor. Seth’s stomach plummeted. They weren’t going to let him go. They were going to stop him. He gripped the controls, his knuckles white. He was a fool. He knew it. But he was a fool with a mission. And he was going to see it through, no matter the cost. He glanced at the T-shirt, now crumpled in his hand. "Mars: It's Out of This World!" he thought, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. Yeah, it was out of this world. And so was the truth he was carrying. Now, he just had to survive the journey.
