…He walked to the railing, the Crown heavy in his hands. He did not know what awaited him on the shore. He did not know if he would find peace or if the weight of the Crown would crush him. But he knew one thing. He was no longer a beggar. He was no longer a broken man. He was the bearer of the Sunken Crown, and he would carry its secret to the end of his days. The wind picked up, filling the sails, and the ship began to move. Barnaby watched the light grow closer, and for the first time in years, he felt something stir in his chest. Hope.
