…Anya looked out the window. The sky over the Academy was dark — not with night but with movement, with shapes, with the silhouettes of figures pouring over the outer wall like a tide. Dozens of them. More than dozens. Hybrid shapes, wolf-formed and human-formed and the terrible things between, their eyes catching the torchlight in flashes of amber and red. Kael had come to the Academy. And he hadn't come alone.
