…The mockery was another stinging slap in the face, another insecurity embedded deep within me. No one offered help, no one inquired. They only complained, made fun, poked fun. The profound meaning behind it all – the autism, the workshops, the support groups – seemed to have vanished from everyone’s memory. It was just a "mess," much like they saw me. A disgrace.
