It was a beauty that deserved to be defended, a beauty that whispered of hope even in the face of encroaching night. He clutched the wooden bird tighter, the locket in his satchel a silent promise. He was Aethelred. He was the new hero. And he would honor the names that had come before him, not just with his actions, but with the very breath in his lungs. The journey had begun, and though the path was shrouded in uncertainty, he would walk it, head held high, with honor in his name.
