…Zee felt a chill that had nothing to do with the precinct’s air conditioning. She was getting too close. She could feel it, a prickling sensation on the back of her neck, a sense that she was no longer the hunter, but the hunted. The ghost of cases past was about to become a very real, very dangerous present. She knew, with a certainty that settled deep in her gut, that the killer would not let her get any closer. The game was about to change, and the stakes had just become terrifyingly personal.
