…Aena was gone. Lena was still holding his hand. Lily and Dee Jay stood beside them, breathing hard. Elias looked at his palm. The wound was still there, but it was no longer pulsing with light. It was just a scar—a pale line across his skin. "Did it work?" Lily whispered. Before anyone could answer, the door in front of them creaked open. Beyond it was not a hallway or a room, but a vast, dark space filled with stars. The oldest one's voice came from somewhere inside that void, no longer triumphant but curious. "You have redirected the bridge. But you have not destroyed it. Come, Elias Thorne. Let us see what you have built." The stars pulsed once, and the door swung wider.
