…He walked back to his car, the journal tucked under his arm, and he drove home with a sense of purpose he had not felt in years. The typewriter was waiting for him, and so was the story. The story of the woman that was never real, but who had become the most real thing in his life. And as he sat down to write, he heard her voice, faint and distant, like a melody carried on the wind: "I am the echo of what you have lost, and the whisper of what you will find." And he knew that the journey was only just beginning.
