The Voice In My Head

Previously

…I rose from the floor, my legs steady, my gaze clear. The room was the same, yet everything had changed. The shadows no longer held the phantom of a voice, but the quiet dignity of memory. The silence was no longer an enemy, but a vast, open space waiting to be filled with the songs of my own making. The journey ahead would be different now, unburdened by the comforting illusion, but illuminated by the hard-won light of self-discovery. The child who had drawn "Best friends forever" had found her way back to herself, and the woman who stood in the quiet room understood that the greatest love story of all was the one I had written for myself.
