…I took a step forward, my bare feet sinking slightly into the soft, moss-like ground. The air here tasted of possibility, of renewal. The ache of my lost life was still a faint echo, but it no longer defined me. It was simply a chapter in a much larger story, a story I was now ready to write. The journey had been a descent, a stripping away of the superficial. But here, at the end of that descent, was not an ending, but a new dawn. My new dawn. And as I walked towards the horizon, the unfamiliar light warming my face, I felt not loss, but a profound, quiet peace.
