…Then, the arbiter’s form began to fade, the cosmic vista around me starting to dissolve. "The choice is made," the voice whispered, growing distant. "The consequences, and the opportunities, now lie solely with you." The inky blackness began to recede, replaced by a growing, soft light. I felt a sensation of falling, not downwards, but forwards, into an unknown future. My sunglasses remained on, their dark lenses now reflecting not the glittering façade of my past, but the infinite, unwritten possibilities of what lay ahead. The weight of my lost fortune was gone, replaced by the exhilarating, terrifying burden of a destiny I had yet to define.
