…The hour passes by inhabitation, and inhabitation now includes construction for a time that does not yet exist. Construction for that time assumes the single point will be absent. When artifacts stand without the point, when the institutions and structures of the state can function independently of the Executive, the system persists. When artifacts fall with the point, when the collapse of the individual leads to the collapse of the system, the state repeats the hour that arrived without a knock, forever caught in the echo of its own unresolved beginnings.
