…I walked back towards the center of the floor, my legs still a little shaky, but my resolve hardening. I looked at my reflection in the mirror, not with dread, but with a newfound curiosity. The dancer I saw was flawed, imperfect, but she was also strong. She was resilient. And she was ready to dance, not for a spot on the team, but for herself. The brink of quitting had led me to a precipice, and instead of falling, I felt myself taking a tentative step forward, ready to embrace whatever came next. The music hadn’t started yet, but for the first time in a long time, I felt ready to dance.
