…She picked up a trowel, the cool metal familiar in her hand. The lily seemed to nod, its petals catching the sunlight. It was time to get to work. There were weeds to be pulled, paths to be cleared, and perhaps, just perhaps, a new batch of Genevieve’s potent essence to be brewed. The garden was safe for now, but she knew Ashworth wouldn’t give up easily. She would need to be ready. And she had a feeling the lily, with its ever-changing, mood-altering fragrance, would be her most discerning, and sassiest, advisor. She just hoped her next craving wouldn't involve anything too exotic. She was running low on edible glitter.
