…I crawled back into my sleeping bag, pulling it up around my chin. The sheets still held the faint scent of Katie’s strawberry lip balm, a sweet reminder of the night. The room was quiet, but it wasn’t lonely. It was filled with the echoes of a friendship reaffirmed, a bond strengthened by a little bit of drama and a whole lot of honesty. I closed my eyes, a contented sigh escaping my lips. The sleepover was over, but the best part, the feeling of knowing my best friend was truly my best friend, was just beginning. And that, I knew, was a feeling that would last a whole lot longer than any crush.
