…Every rustle, every snap of a twig, made me jump. The escape from Site 39 had been a physical one, but the mental chains, the fear, the lingering presence… those were still very much with us. They clung to our minds, whispering doubts, reminding us that even though we had left the facility, the silence of Site 39 was a haunting we might never truly escape. We had made it back to the light, but the darkness of that place had left an indelible mark, a shadow that followed us, a chilling reminder that some secrets, once uncovered, refuse to stay buried. The mystery of Site 39, I knew with a sinking certainty, was far from over.
