We were trapped, not just by metal and concrete, but by our own fears, amplified and weaponized. The roar of the facility reached a crescendo, the very air vibrating with a palpable menace. The lights died completely, plunging us into absolute, suffocating darkness. The Presence’s laughter, a guttural, triumphant sound, was the last thing I heard before the world dissolved into a terrifying, silent void. The choice had been made, and the price was just beginning to be paid.
