I put an arm around his shoulders, a gesture of comfort that felt woefully inadequate. "We will, Liam. We will." But even as I said it, doubt gnawed at me. The maze of minds was closing in, and I could feel the tendrils of its influence reaching for me, whispering my own deepest fears. The silence of Site 39 was a deafening roar, and it was beginning to consume us. The end of this corridor, I suspected, was not a way out, but a deeper descent into the heart of the labyrinth.
