Chloe’s eyes widened, darting towards the source of the sound. “I don’t know,” she breathed, her hand instinctively reaching for her tablet, as if its familiar glow could somehow ward off the encroaching strangeness. And suddenly, the abandoned building didn’t feel empty at all. It felt like it was watching us. Waiting. The call of the wild had led us somewhere far stranger, and far more terrifying, than we had ever imagined.
