…“You feed on despair,” Lyra called out, her voice ringing with newfound authority, amplified by the Sunstone’s glow. “But you cannot touch hope. You cannot touch love. You cannot touch what makes us truly strong.” The shadowy entity shrieked, a sound of pure agony and fury. The golden light of the Sunstone flared, a blinding wave of pure energy that washed over the ancient tree, over the weeping mountain, and then, Lyra knew, it would wash over Oakhaven. The fight was far from over, but for the first time since the Starfall had been tainted, Lyra felt the promise of dawn.
