"I know." "But you got him." She squeezed his hand. "You got him." Trevor closed his eyes, exhaustion pulling him under. But before sleep took him, he felt a weight in his chest. Not pain. Relief. And something else—a question that wouldn't let go. Jake had said he was the final piece. What did that mean? And why did it feel like the game wasn't over yet? He drifted into darkness, the answers waiting somewhere beyond the horizon.
