…It was a low, resonant sound, vibrating through the earth, through her very bones. The humming grew louder, more intense, and the vines pulsed with a soft, green light. Kelly squeezed her eyes shut, bracing herself for whatever was to come. She could feel a strange energy radiating from the ground, a pulling sensation that was both terrifying and strangely… familiar. It felt like the planet itself was drawing her in, preparing to claim her. The darkness of her situation pressed in, and for a fleeting moment, the will to fight flickered and died, replaced by a chilling resignation.
